Jan Cihlar is an all-around sustainable energy expert and thought leader. He combines strategy consulting experience with his interest in the broad energy system and industrial transformations. Jan is able to interact across all levels of client organizations, from executive advisory to technical consultancy. This covers assignments for leading industrial companies, associations, and large international organizations on market intelligence, innovation strategies, and greenhouse gas emission reduction.
Jan is currently actively invested in debate on gas grids transitioning and Power-to-X and hydrogen integration through a variety of assignments for both corporate and governmental bodies, including Gas for Climate 2050, BP, Energy Networks Association, North Sea Wind Power Hub, Yara, EON or the European Commission. In addition, Jan has been at the forefront of Guidehouse’s efforts in the development of the sustainable manufacturing transformation framework that helps manufacturing companies assess the disruptions in energy and material systems on their business models.
At Guidehouse, Jan has contributed to a number of thought leadership publications on hydrogen’s role in future energy systems, the Energy Cloud, and urban mobility transformations. With a background in SCRUM, Jan is an experienced project manager.
Prior to joining Guidehouse, he has acquired experience from startup environments; codeveloping business ideas in sustainable products, solar, and wind energy; and engaging in numerous platforms enabling closer collaborating between energy experts, innovators, and business developers.
