Jeroen de Beer is an associate director in Guidehouse's Energy, Sustainability, and Infrastructure segment. With more than 25 years of consulting experience, he advises public and private clients on sustainable energy solutions.
Jeroen focuses on developing and providing solutions for the energy-intensive manufacturing industry, particularly in the steel, cement, and chemicals sectors, and for industry associations and governments. Additionally, he advises on developing corporate climate change strategy, market entry studies for sustainable technologies, policy evaluation and design, carbon cost forecasts under emission trading, scenario building, and roadmapping.
Jeroen has deep technology knowledge and a broad understanding of climate change and energy policies, combined with a good eye for the strategic process. With this combination of skills and expertise, he helps clients take action in often complex organizational and political processes. Recently, he helped the European cement industry strengthen its position on using waste as a fuel in a debate with the European Commission. He has also supported industry associations with fact-based, transparent analyses of the possible impact of carbon emission trading on the competitive position of their members, opening the door to further discussion. Additional experience includes providing technical expertise and strategic thinking for a multinational steel company developing an internal climate strategy.
Jeroen has held several positions at Guidehouse. He led the Energy Management service line for several years and contributed to the talent management program. He holds a PhD in chemistry and is the author of a number of well-cited articles.
