Kara is a director in our Public Health sector and brings more than 16 years of experience. She is focused on leading large scale, multi-faceted engagements involving building information security programs and establishing comprehensive review programs to help clients solve problems in the areas of compliance, program management, cybersecurity, business operations, and IT strategy. Kara’s experience ranges from building information security and compliance programs, providing program management support, completing financial statement audits, performance audits, A-123 reviews, SSAE No. 16 audits, FISMA audits, and Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 reviews.
Kara has experience in the public health space supporting programs developed as part of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). She has built and matured a comprehensive review program for consumer-run, private, nonprofit insurers that provided higher quality, affordable care on the Health Insurance Exchanges.
Prior to joining Guidehouse, Kara began her career in the systems and process assurance group within the Washington Federal practice at PwC in 2004. From 2004 – 2007, supported both public and private sector clients. In 2007, transitioned into the advisory sector within the Washington Federal Practice which later became PwC Public Sector LLP.
