Lou DiStasi is an Associate Director in Guidehouse's Research and Development (R&D) management team. For the past 13 years, he has advised prominent research and development labs within the United States Department of Army, the Army Corps of Engineers, the Coast Guard, and many Regions and Bases within the Department of Navy. His expertise in investment strategy management positions him as a critical asset in all R&D management engagements.
His primary specialty lies in the utilization and implementation of Guidehouse's Portfolio Discovery® process for large R&D portfolios. With his deep understanding of organization, leadership, culture and politics, Lou has successfully integrated best-practices for investment optimization given ever-changing requirements, risks, uncertainties, and strategic goals of his clients. As one of the country's foremost portfolio analysts, Lou developed a proprietary investment balancing tool that provides leadership within an organization the ability to see the impact of investment decisions in real-time on their portfolios. This tool allows management to evaluate the ramifications of their decisions against strategic goals, metrics, risks, and changing requirements related to their organizations overall strategy.
Lou extensively works within the Department of Defense and Department of Homeland Security domains; however, his experience and application of proprietary investment optimization techniques has supported various clients within the energy and health care domains.
