Awet Gebrehiiwet-Wilder is an Associate Director in Guidehouse’s Healthcare & Life Sciences Disputes, Regulatory, Compliance, and Investigations practice. She has more than a decade of life sciences experience encompassing, sales, training, compliance and product testing and manufacturing.
Awet’s subject matter expertise includes helping clients manage the risks associated with relationships between external healthcare professionals. This encompasses commercial and non-promotional activities related with or without a CIA. Activities associated with this include improving compliance program effectiveness through program development and rollout, effectiveness assessments, corrective action development, and monitoring. Forms of monitoring include field monitoring of speaker programs, sales representatives’ interactions with healthcare professionals, healthcare professional advisory boards, medical liaison interactions, healthcare professional training programs and the review of various records associated with field employees (e.g., expenses, call notes, coaching notes and email). She has also developed and monitored non-promotional documents such as medical education grants, research related activities, publications, consultant arrangements and sponsorships.
Awet has significant sales, compliance and marketing experience within the therapeutic areas of Aesthetics, Medical Device, Cardiology, Urology, Neurology, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, and Metabolic Diseases. Within Awet’s previous roles she has developed, assessed, implemented and monitored, field business plans including customer targeting and execution of product portfolio strategy, provided training to both field sales, management, and external healthcare affiliated professionals and facilitated compliance governance committee consisting of Legal, Regulatory, Business Compliance, Human Resources and Compliance Operations/Investigations.
