Ajay Guru is a partner in Guidehouse’s Global Investigations and Compliance practice and leads our Fraud Technology Services practice. Ajay has over 24 years of experience across fraud, technology, payments, consulting, and services management.
Prior to joining Guidehouse, Ajay served as a Senior Vice President of Fraud Products at CO-OP Financial Services, where he led the fraud product group in payments technology. He has extensive experience in managing end-to-end global fraud programs, building scalable payments and fraud products, and identifying opportunities to increase fraud process efficiency. He has designed and deployed successful fraud programs across many sectors including financial services, technology, retail banking, e-commerce, petroleum, restaurant, travel, retail, and marketplace industries.
Ajay has successfully established global fraud prevention programs, built a fraud business unit into an industry leader, and led fraud & risk product strategy and operations for a publicly traded company. Ajay has helped Fortune 50 companies become successful in e-commerce and e- commerce fraud prevention, by utilizing and implementing machine-learning based technology products.
Ajay has architected friction-less authentication strategy that enabled higher authorization approvals and improved customer experience. He spearheaded initiatives in offshoring, outsourcing and global operational setups in APAC, EU and LATAM. One of his engagements involved managing global operations to create and manage global marketplace trust & security.
For Petroleum, Quick-Service-Restaurant and Retail industries, Ajay led a group that implemented a sophisticated set of fraud prevention tools and services. Ajay’s technical experience includes implementing device fingerprinting, advanced databases, rules-based engines, and implementing machine learning models. He also helped build a case management system for a Top 5 US bank that involved full assessment of their fraud investigations process and a brand-new implementation of a case management workflow system.
Ajay also led a large initiative that involved building an industry leading end-to-end disputes and chargeback management cloud-based workflow software and successfully deployed it to hundreds of credit unions across the country.
