She is a health systems-minded consultant passionate about solving big problems and designing for new, transformational ideas that are robust, easily deployable, and sustainable. Michele is a change agent excited to position healthcare providers for success in an uncertain future through new tools and offerings that leverage research, data, and innovative ideas. In her current role of Partner in the Healthcare practice, Michele is responsible for overseeing and ensuring client satisfaction with Guidehouse performance excellence engagements.
Prior Professional Experience
- Worked as the Senior Vice President leading provider solutions at Quorum Health Resources. In this role, she provided executive oversight to the consulting practice as well as Quorum Purchasing Advantage (QHR’s Group Purchasing Organization). She represented QHR in speaking engagements and print articles on a variety of topics such as CEO turnover, cost structure rebalancing, determining the right mix of clinical services, and clinical resource management. Additionally, she developed a daily version of QHR’s productivity tool, Vantage Workforce Productivity.
- Served as the Vice President, Hospital Performance Management Consulting at the Advisory Board Company and grew the hospital performance management practice an average of 20% year over year (Year 1 through Year 4 of the practice). Developed a robust methodology around reducing clinical / physician variance to improve outcomes and reduce costs — including identification of $63M of opportunity across a 4-hospital IDN in Florida. She created and delivered population health roadmaps for advisory board members, one of which contracted with the advisory board to build their Clinically Integrated Network. Michele led a small health system in the northeast through a complete overhaul of their workforce management program, to include human resources policies and procedures around FMLA management, accountability policies, and two reductions in force. In this role, she also created a dynamic, predictive modeling tool around hiring and recruiting processes for human resources in order to better prepare member health systems for the wave of retiring nurses. Represented the Advisory Board Company in speaking engagements on reducing overall cost per case and reducing clinical variation, effectively managing labor resources, redesigning clinical care across the continuum and rationalizing services across networks.
- As the Director of Premier Performance Partners at Premier Healthcare Alliance, managed integrated consulting projects at small and large health systems including labor management,
productivity, supply chain, physician practices, and space / facilities planning engagements. Oversaw engagements generating $98M in validated savings realized by members in one year. Represented Premier in speaking engagements on effectively managing labor resources at American Society for Quality (ASQ) and at Premier’s annual conferences.
