Jeff Richman is a director within the Energy, Sustainability, and Infrastructure segment providing strategic and tactical direction in smart meters and big data analytics. He has more than 29 years of utility industry experience.
Prior to Guidehouse, Jeff spent 26 years working at FPL leading a variety of projects ranging from electronic meter reading, CIS replacement, revenue protection, care center strategy and technology upgrade, and demand side management.
Jeff led FPL's back office transformation of their $800M smart meter implementation. Prior to that, he oversaw the implementation and subsequent transition to the operation of a 150 TB Hadoop and Mongo DB Smart Meter/Customer data lake employing R and HTML for big data analytics. Analytics models were deployed for energy theft, customer accounting, smart meter operations, customer advocacy, rates and regulatory, and demand side management.
He was the vice chairman for the Silverspring Networks user group, executive board member of the Utility Analytics Institute, and a member of the Accenture Smart Grid Leadership forum. He also served on the NextIP team working with the U.S. Patent office for all customer service intellectual property at FPL. Jeff also worked for three years at KPMG consulting doing balanced scorecard work and new product and services offerings.
