Kathryn (Kate) Rock, CPA is a partner within the Financial Services segment at Guidehouse. With over 18 years of experience advising banking, consumer finance, and government organizations, Kate specializes in providing solutions that help clients transform their business, minimize risk, and address regulatory requirements. She is a proven engagement leader with the ability to manage large complex projects in risk management and regulatory compliance, operational strategy and effectiveness, and accounting and auditing. She has managed teams focused on the industry’s most critical issues such as the Paycheck Protection Program, the Independent Foreclosure Review resulting from the financial crisis, and key litigation cases impacting and shaping our industry.
Kate has recently focused on supporting lenders with the implementation of the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). Kate is also currently managing multiple pre-partnership and ongoing Compliance Management System (CMS) assessments of a client’s strategic partners to assess adherence to applicable regulatory requirements and bank guidelines. Additionally, Kate has also recently assessed the current state of multiple client’s data privacy compliance programs as the organizations prepared for the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) obligations. Furthermore, she has performed multiple accounting reviews and written various expert disclosures to support mortgage, student lending, and accounting-related litigation cases.
Kate has published and spoken on topics such as PPP, M&A due diligence, CMS, privacy, and third-party risk.
Kate started her career at Ernst & Young auditing various financial services clients domestically and internationally.
She is currently President-Elect and serves on the Board of Women in Housing and Finance, Inc.
