Jared as an associate director in the Energy practice. He brings 13 years of experience in the energy industry to help clients build security and compliance processes that meet business needs and best practices. This work includes NERC CIP and cyber security frameworks, spot checks, mock audits, compliance support, risk management, internal controls, table-top exercises, evidence systems, network architecture, vulnerability assessments, self reports, mitigation plans, settlements, and new regulation planning.
Prior to Guidehouse, Jared was the director of Cyber Security at another consulting firm where he provided NERC CIP expertise to various companies in North America. Before that, Jared worked for Peak Reliability as the Director of Compliance where he helped the organization improve NERC Operations & Planning and CIP practices, interfaced with regulators, and participated in industry activities such as the Western Interconnection Compliance Forum (WICF) Steering Committee and standards development.
Prior to Peak Reliability, Jared was a Cyber Security Auditor for the Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC). There, he helped audit various entities for compliance with NERC CIP, participated in entity outreach, and participated in industry activities. Prior to WECC, Jared spent worked at the City of St. George Power Department forecasting energy load requirements, negotiating short-term and long-term power contracts with various marketers, dispatching generation, and assisting with NERC compliance.
