Gene Shlatz is a director in Guidehouse's Energy, Sustainability, and Infrastructure segment. He has over 25 years' experience in electric utility engineering, operations, and technology assessment. Gene has managed several recent studies to assess system integration, applications, and benefits of distributed energy resources and smart grid technologies. His background includes asset management, demand response, reliability, benchmarking, and system adequacy reviews for U.S., Canadian, and South American utilities. He has appeared as an expert witness before FERC and State Commissions on transmission open access, mergers, rate cases, and least-cost planning.
Gene previously was the director of engineering and operations for Green Mountain Power.
