Timothy Sutherland is an associate director in the Energy, Sustainability, and Infrastructure segment. He primarily supports the U.S. Department of Energy in its development of energy conservation standards and test procedures for home appliances, and is a subject matter expert on residential and commercial clothes washers. He also provides technical support to the ENERGY STAR program.
Timothy’s expertise includes conducting market assessments, emerging technology assessments, reverse-engineering product teardowns, field evaluations, and regulatory policy analysis. In addition, he provides short-term and long-term strategic planning recommendations for Federal R&D investments in home appliance technologies. His clients generally include government agencies and other organizations whose objective is to transform the market for home appliances.
