Areas of Expertise

Fabian is a Director for Energy, Sustainability & Infrastructure at Guidehouse where he is advising on the regulatory and financing frameworks for clean technologies driving the energy transition (renewable energy, battery storage, green hydrogen and smart grids).
He is an expert on energy procurement and power sector reform and coordinates Guidehouse EME’s energy procurement advisory. He has consulted international development and finance institutions (USAID, EBRD, GIZ), the European Commission and governments on energy reforms in more than 20 countries. He is also coordinating Guidehouse’s involvement on auctions research for the EU-Horizon-2020 AURES project and has advised large energy companies & investors on market access, financing, risk and bidding strategies.
Fabian is involved in international energy negotiations and has among others advised the G7 and G20 presidencies, the EU Commission and the German energy partnerships on sustainable energy policy.

Prior to his role at Guidehouse, Fabian worked as a Senior Analyst Regulation & Markets for the Desertec Industrial Initiative (Dii), an industry and investor group for renewable energy in North Africa and the Middle East and was a Robert Bosch Global Governance Futures Fellow on Global Energy Governance.
