Exporting H2, Ports, and Project Development

Wednesday, May 22, 2024 | 2:40 p.m. CDT

This session will discuss the financial impact on hydrogen export to Europe from the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM). Embedded carbon emissions generated in the production of certain goods imported into Europe, including hydrogen and ammonia, are assessed under the EU's new CBAM. Starting in 2026, importers will have to pay an import fee. Guidehouse will provide an overview of CBAM and its potential impact on European hydrogen exports.
