Joanne McHugh, MBA, MHA, is a partner with the Life Science Practice at Guidehouse. She has more than 20 years of management consulting experience with a focus on pharmaceutical marketing and management. Joanne has helped clients achieve their goals during engagements involving corporate, franchise and brand strategy, new product planning and loss of exclusivity planning.
She has led engagements with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device companies in specialty and primary care disease areas with particular expertise in respiratory and infectious diseases. Her expertise spans global strategy development, brand planning and launch readiness.
Joanne specializes in organizational and commercial excellence and building cross-functional alignment using innovative collaboration techniques. She leads the Life Sciences Innovation Team, tracking key trends in healthcare and outlining key implications and opportunities for biopharmaceutical and med-tech companies.
She recently co-authored a book titled “RESULTS: The Future of Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Marketing” as well the article “10 Services That Will Make Your Brand Stand Out as a Leader.” She also led the development of the inaugural Life Sciences PULSE publication: Lessons from Healthcare Reform.
She is the recipient of the Guidehouse Shared Values Leadership Award in recognition of individuals who consistently exceed expectations and demonstrate corporate citizenship and dedication to the firm.
