Dr. Karoline Steinbacher is an Associate Director in the Energy, Sustainability, and Infrastructure segment of the Global Energy Practice, based in Berlin. Her primary focus is in energy policy consulting with an emphasis on policy instruments and regulation. Karoline’s work for clients in Europe and the MENA region focuses on policies for DER integration, power markets, sector coupling, flexibility and distribution grids. She has led strategic large-scale assignments as a trusted advisor for clients from government, international development banks and leading think tanks.
Prior to joining Guidehouse, Karoline was a research fellow with the Energy Technology Innovation Policy group at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, where she focused on transatlantic energy and climate policy.
