Giel Linthorst, Director, Named to Environment+Energy 100 List

Linthorst recognized for helping corporations and industries accomplish climate goals

Environment+Energy Leader (E+E) has named Giel Linthorst, director in Guidehouse’s Energy, Sustainability, and Infrastructure segment, to its 2020 E+E 100 list.

The annual list recognizes 100 professionals in the environment and energy sectors who break trail in creating new solutions, programs, platforms, best practices, and products to help their companies, or other companies, achieve greater success in commercial and industrial environment and energy management.

Linthorst, who has more than 20 years of experience in energy and environmental consulting, was recognized for developing methodologies and initiatives that help industries and corporations track their carbon footprints and accomplish climate goals.

Most recently, Linthorst supported The Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF) in expanding its global reach and launching the Global GHG Accounting and Reporting Standard for the Financial Industry, the first global standard to measure and report financed emissions.

Linthorst also developed the methodology for the Science Based Targets initiative—the Sectoral Decarbonization Approach, used by most of the nearly 1,000 companies that have committed to targets—and has worked with large multinational companies such as Danone, Nokia, and McDonald’s to implement their science-based targets and ambitious climate strategies.
