Industry Is Poised to Increase Biomethane and Hydrogen Production to Reach EU Targets

Report identifies key trends across the value chain of biomethane and hydrogen

The biomethane sector is offering new technologies to allow the bidirectional flow between gas distribution and the grid. At the same time, the green hydrogen project pipeline is skyrocketing with more than 50 GW of green hydrogen capacity planned to be in operation by 2030. If policies are put in place, these developments are expected to help the EU reach its 2030 decarbonisation target.

In collaboration with the Gas for Climate consortium, Guidehouse has published a new report, Market State and Trends in Renewable and Low-Caron Gases in Europe, to complement the 2020 Market State and Trends Report on key trends across the value chain of biomethane and green and blue hydrogen. The report focuses on indicators and project examples, provides statistical information, and showcases the latest projects in these industries.
