Red Cross Missing Maps MapSwipe Volunteer Event

Join Guidehouse and the American Red Cross to map vulnerable communities

When was the last time you used GPS to navigate around? While a significant amount of the United States has been mapped with incredible detail, this is not the reality for many vulnerable communities around the world, which leaves billions of people in challenging situations. Many of the places where these disasters occur are literally “missing” from any map and first responders lack the information to make valuable decisions regarding relief efforts. This lack of mapping poses a significant obstacle for Red Cross workers and other organizations when delivering lifesaving aid to people struck by disasters. You have the power – even from the comfort of your own home – to save lives through the American Red Cross’s partnership with MapSwipe!

Guidehouse will host an in-person AND virtual Missing Maps MapSwipe Event. For those of you local to the DC area, feel free to join us in person at our Tysons office. Outside of the DC area? We will provide you a link to attend closer to the event. Everyone just needs internet access and their mobile device. MapSwipe is an application-based program, so all attendees will need to download the app beforehand (instructions to be shared prior to the event day).

This event is limited to Guidehouse team members and their families/friends.
