Celebrating community, connection, and purpose with D.C. United and the United Service Organizations

On July 27, hundreds of Guidehouse employees and their loved ones gathered at Audi Field in Washington, D.C., for the second annual Guidehouse Family Field Day. Co-hosted with D.C. United of Major League Soccer and the United Service Organizations (USO), the event was more than a day of fun—it was a reflection of Guidehouse’s commitment to community, service, and collective impact.

The day offered joyful moments for all ages, including face painting, soccer drills, 360 photo booths, and autograph sessions with D.C. United players. But it also served a deeper purpose, allowing employees to strengthen camaraderie while serving their community. Employees and their families assembled 2,000 snack kits for deploying service members, an appreciative gesture recognizing them for devotion to their country.

“Family Field Day gives us a chance to celebrate our people and how hard they work to support the mission of our clients,” said Joy Jarrett, Guidehouse Chief Marketing Officer. “They come together with their families and get to know each other outside of work. At Guidehouse, our colleagues are our treasure.”

A shared mission of service

Guidehouse’s partnership with the USO is rooted in a shared commitment to those who serve. Whether facilitating the transition of military personnel to civilian life, packing Thanksgiving meals for enlisting families, or earning our sixth consecutive Military Friendly® Employer designation, Guidehouse proudly champions the prosperity of service members and their families.

We can never do enough to support the brave men and women of our military and their families,” said Ryan McKeon, a Partner in Guidehouse’s Defense & Security segment and USO Mid-Atlantic Advisory Council member.

“Their sacrifices make our freedoms possible, and events like this are a great way to thank them. Seeing colleagues, families, and volunteers come together to pack care kits is a powerful reminder that small acts of kindness can have a lasting impact. These packages may seem simple, but to a deployed service member, they’re a reminder of home and a tangible expression of our gratitude.”

The USO echoed this sentiment.

“Guidehouse and the USO, our missions really align with serving those who serve us,” said Ambre Devoti, a USO Corporate Development Officer. “Whether through national security, defense, or direct service like we're doing here, Guidehouse has been an incredible partner.”

Teamwork on and off the field

Now in its second year as a sponsor of D.C. United, Guidehouse continues collaborating with the professional soccer club to uplift communities through such endeavors as holiday shopping for families in need, raising cancer awareness, and feeding the hungry.

“It was magical to find an organization in the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area that shared the core values of giving back to the community, which has always been at the heart of who we are,” Jarrett said.

“Teamwork is such a big part of our identity and what our brand looks like on the field,” said Conner Antley, a D.C. United defender, who brought his wife and children to the event. “For a leader like Guidehouse, teamwork has got to be what drives the company.”

That spirit of connection was felt throughout the day. Ben Gorban, a Guidehouse employee who returned to Family Field Day this year with his wife and three-year-old son, shared: “It's great seeing my son be one year older, one year better at running around on the pitch. Maybe in a couple of years, he’ll be out here with the D.C. United jersey.”

Guidehouse Family Field Day brings together employees and their families to build relationships, celebrate teamwork, and make memories.
