Shaping brighter futures through career development, volunteerism, and amplifying voices of those who’ve served
A newly hired Veteran at Guidehouse shares stories of service with a mentor who’s walked the same path. Nearby, colleagues gather formalwear for military families, helping them celebrate life’s milestones with pride and dignity. At a D.C. United soccer match, employees and their loved ones pack snack kits and write heartfelt notes of encouragement.

These moments aren’t exceptions. They’re everyday reflections of the culture we’ve built together at Guidehouse.

Veterans and military families bring unmatched integrity, expertise, and heart to our work. Through innovative recruiting programs, community engagement, and a workplace that honors their contributions, we’re privileged to walk beside those who’ve served, supporting their next chapter with care.

“These programs give our teams a deeper understanding of the depth of Veteran talent. They help break down stereotypes and show us that these individuals bring polished professionalism and a mission-first mindset that can elevate any team.”

— Rick Estrada, Veteran and Guidehouse employee

Opening doors for Veterans

Transitioning from military service to civilian life can feel overwhelming, but it’s also a leap into new possibilities. At Guidehouse, we meet service members and military spouses where they are, recognizing their leadership, unique skills, and potential from day one.

We work closely with organizations such as Hiring Our Heroes, FourBlock, the Department of War’s Skillbridge Program, the Transition Assistance Program, and the Military Spouse Employment Program. These partnerships aid Veterans in building professional networks, gaining industry exposure, and finding roles where their experience makes a real difference.

Support doesn’t stop at hiring. Guidehouse’s Veteran Employee Network, an internal program, offers tailored onboarding, peer mentorship, and resources that nurture the growth and confidence of Veterans. In our mentorship program, experienced mentors guide participants in setting career goals and translating their work into language that resonates with civilian team members.

“When I transitioned, I didn’t have anyone to teach me the ropes. Now, I have the opportunity to guide others in finding their footing and building something stable after service.”

Bettering our communities

Whether in uniform or in volunteer gear, we believe in the power of service. At Guidehouse, our teams come together throughout the year to champion causes that uplift Veterans and military families, transforming gratitude into action.

At Wreaths Across America events nationwide, employees pay tribute to the nation’s heroes by laying wreaths at their resting places and remembering their sacrifices. During Honor Flight, volunteers line a terminal at Dulles International Airport to greet Veterans. They cheer and wave flags in flashes of red, white, and blue, sparking moments of connection that stay with them long after.

Our partnership with the United Service Organizations (USO) is another cornerstone of our outreach to the military community. We annually donate $30,000 USD towards the USO’s mission and in 2025, assembled 2,000 snack kits for deploying troops—packages that offer a taste of home and message of solidarity.

In addition to flagship events, our teams regularly volunteer for the Army Ten-Miler, Operation Deploy Your Dress, Turkey for Troops, and the Armed Forces Retirement Homes in Washington D.C., and Mississippi, and contribute to Adopt-a-Platoon.

Whether through fundraising, donation matching, or hands-on volunteering, our employees are united by a shared mission: to pave the way towards a brighter, more connected future for those who protect our nation.

“Putting together care packages may seem like a small act of kindness, but for those deployed far away from their families, it means everything. It shows them that someone cares and is thankful for them.”

Celebrating our service members

Our commitment to Veterans has earned national recognition—but it’s not defined by titles. It’s reflected in the voices and stories of our Veteran employees.

In 2025, we were named a Military Friendly® Gold Employer for the sixth consecutive year. We hold distinctions such as Military Friendly® Spouse Employer, Military Friendly® Company, the Department of Defense Seven Seals Award, the HIRE Vets Gold Medallion, and recognition from VIQTORY.

In collaboration with Lifetime’s Military Makeover, Veteran employees shared how they make their mark at Guidehouse with audiences across 168 countries. These journeys illuminate the many ways they strengthen our values and the industries we support.

We’re proud to honor the incredible journeys of our Veteran colleagues. In the second episode of Military Makeover, we spotlight several team members who’ve transitioned from military life to thriving careers in the civilian workforce. Hear their inspiring stories.

“With our military backgrounds, defense may seem like a natural fit, but Guidehouse provides Veterans a chance to use their skillsets across many industries. They apply their experience broadly while finding work that fulfills and challenges them.”

– John Koenig, Director and retired Marine Colonel

Continuing the mission, together

For many Veterans, joining Guidehouse is more than starting a new job. It’s a chance to continue their legacy of service in different and meaningful ways.

Our Veteran employees bring their leadership and firsthand experience to innovate across industries, public and private. Their impact reaches across every corner of our business—from working with local governments to advancing national security, financial services, health, and energy solutions.

While we’re creating opportunities that bridge military service and the civilian workforce, our commitment runs deeper. Through our partnerships with federal agencies, we contribute to initiatives that directly serve the military community. As a trusted partner to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) for more than 25 years, Guidehouse has played a key role in advancing programs that improve the well-being of service members and their families. In the VA’s $20M Mission Daybreak challenge, our team earned third place for developing a solution focused on preventing Veteran suicide.

We also bring deep expertise to the Military Health System (MHS), supporting large-scale transformation projects that improve care delivery and operational readiness. Our teams provide strategic guidance in change management, financial management, data analytics, and communications, helping MHS evolve to meet the demands of today’s dynamic healthcare landscape.
