CHICAGO – Navigant (NYSE: NCI) today announced that Grace Brasington, a senior financial services technology executive, joined its Financial Services Advisory and Compliance (FSAC)
joins FSAC as managing director, where she will advise clients on implementing emerging technologies to enhance their business objectives and operations while complying with evolving global rules and regulations. She has over 30 years of experience in risk management, compliance, and consumer finance, and has previously served in executive roles at financial institutions, technology organizations, and service providers. Most recently she served as vice president and global leader for risk and compliance at IBM Watson.
“I am excited to join Navigant’s financial services team in providing our clients with guidance on choosing and implementing effective solutions to meet today’s risk and compliance challenges,” said Brasington. “Having spent the majority of my career working with emerging technologies at financial institutions, I understand that the intersection of business and technology must include practicality and performance, and I look forward to helping our clients at Navigant reach that endpoint.”
Brasington specializes in leveraging machine learning and artificial intelligence technologies to solve critical regulatory challenges, such as combating financial crime and fraud, regulatory change management, and modernizing back office and consumer-facing operational platforms.
“Grace’s prior leadership roles have provided her an unparalleled understanding of clients’ needs and objectives,” said Ellen Zimiles, managing director and segment leader of FSAC.
At IBM, Brasington was a key senior leader within Watson’s Financial Services division, driving the design, development, and delivery of AI technology solutions to leverage machine learning, data, and analytics in improving efficiency and effectiveness in compliance and risk management.
Regulatory technology is a necessary component in combating the ongoing complexities of risk and compliance management,” said Zimiles. “At Navigant, we strive not only to be up to speed in implementation, but to lead the efforts in providing our clients the most effective and efficient technology solutions. Grace’s background in developing and deploying emerging technology to tackle global financial risks is crucial in helping us pave the way.”
Prior to IBM, she held executive roles as chief compliance officer at SunTrust and director of the Southeast Risk Advisory practice at KPMG. Additionally, she served as chief risk officer at Lender Processing Services (now known as Black Knight Financial Services), where she structured the enterprise risk management program from the ground up and devised practical comprehensive processes for assessing, identifying, monitoring, and reducing pertinent business risks.
Brasington also has extensive experience leading global teams through regulatory complexities including anti money laundering, know your customer, fraud, conduct risk, surveillance, complaints and regulatory change management.
