Navigant Healthcare Finance and Reimbursement Expert Named Consulting Magazine “Rising Star”

Jeff Leibach recognized for leadership and positive impact on client engagements, Navigant culture

CHICAGO – Navigant’s Jeff Leibach, a director in the firm’s healthcare value transformation practice, has been recognized among the 2019 “Rising Stars of the Profession” by ALM’s Consulting magazine. Leibach was selected from more than 300 nominees considered for the recognition, an annual list honoring 35 young up-and-comers in the consulting profession under the age of 35.

“The editorial selection committee was blown away by the quality of candidates from the 300 or so nominations we received. It is amazing what this generation of consultants is able to bring to the table and to the profession; they are redefining what it means to be a consultant right before our eyes,” said Joe Kornik, Consulting magazine’s editor and publisher. “These 35 Rising Stars are already making a huge impact on their firms, clients, and the entire profession. It’s obvious the future of consulting is in great hands.”

Leibach, 34, specializes in supporting hospitals, health systems, and payers with managed care negotiations, pricing and reimbursement strategies, and aligning clinical and financial leadership as they weigh the transition from fee-for-service to value-based care. This includes providing strategic advice on pricing transparency and consumerism, development and implementation of value-based reimbursement models such as bundled payments and accountable care organizations and advancing payer-provider partnerships. He has also overseen development of several of Navigant's proprietary analytic models that create actionable insights from large claims data sets. In addition, Leibach leads Navigant’s Healthcare Heartbeat initiative to drive cultural impact across the firm.

“Jeff plays an essential role in helping Navigant’s provider and payer clients manage the financial and strategic challenges of today's rapidly changing healthcare landscape,” said Navigant Managing Director and healthcare value transformation practice leader Richard Bajner, a 2015 Rising Star winner. “His passion for collaborating both with clients and his internal teammates has had a significant impact on how Navigant operates and how our culture is developing.”

Leibach also designed and led managed care negotiation and strategy training programs in collaboration with the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, where he obtained his MBA. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in public policy and health policy from Duke University.

“Consulting is such a team sport and being recognized with this award is a testament to my mentors, colleagues, and the opportunities I have had,” said Leibach. “I view this honor as a signal that our team is investing in the right things — generating tremendous client impact and creating an environment to build great careers.”

The “Rising Stars of the Profession” are recognized for excellence in the following areas: leadership, client service, strategy consulting, operations management consulting, healthcare, financial services, high tech, retail, information technology, and human resources. This year’s honorees will be recognized by Consulting magazine at a gala awards dinner at the W Chicago Lakeshore on April 11.
