Cherish Smith, Associate Director, Named to Energy News Network’s 40 Under 40 List

Smith recognized as an emerging leader in the Midwest’s transition to a clean energy economy

The Energy News Network has named Cherish Smith, an associate director in Guidehouse’s Energy, Sustainability, and Infrastructure segment, to its 2020 40 Under 40 List. The list highlights emerging energy industry leaders and innovators by US region.

After learning about the impact of climate change as a high school student, Smith made the decision to devote her career to helping the US transition to a clean energy economy. Today, in her role as a management consultant, she helps utilities understand the environmental impact of their businesses and formulate strategies for cleaner, more efficient energy use.

Smith is a recognized leader in the Michigan energy efficiency regulatory space and has managed over 100 program evaluations, contributed to over 20 market research projects, and more than 15 pilot engagements to improve utility program offerings, address complex challenges with regulators, and provide innovative and sustainable solutions.

She serves as the membership chair for Advancing Women in Energy and is a Certified Energy Auditor.

Smith will be honored during a virtual ceremony on September 30.
