Amy Howland

Amy brings deep expertise to her role as Guidehouse CISO, having 25 years of cybersecurity and information assurance experience supporting commercial and public sector organizations, including civilian agencies and the U.S. Department of Defense. She applies both commercial and federal best-practice approaches to policy, governance, risk, vulnerability management, security operations, and compliance in benefit to our clients.

During her career, Amy has served as CISO for Maxar Intelligence, a provider of secure, precise, geospatial intelligence; as Vice President and CISO for Perspecta (now Peraton); and as CISO for CSRA (now GDIT) in Northern Virginia. She has supported corporate environment security, fostered and maintained compliance with NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC frameworks, and ably managed cyber risks to maintain organizational brand and reputation.

Her responsibilities have included overarching cybersecurity compliance and risk management (including third-party risk) as well as security operations and integration activities. She has led the strategic creation and implementation of security policies, processes, and best practices while overseeing security engineering, insider threat, security operations center, malware, threat intelligence, cybersecurity architecture, and vulnerability management.

Amy’s journey began with an early career position as financial auditor and certified public accountant with Ernst & Young. She transitioned internally to cybersecurity through her role as an ethical hacker before serving as a manager for the firm’s Security & Technology practice supporting a variety of customers, primarily in the commercial space.
