Dave Zito is a partner and segment leader of the Healthcare practice. With more than 30 years of management consulting experience collaborating with integrated healthcare systems, public and private teaching institutions, academic medical centers, faculty practice plans, and community hospitals, his expertise lies in system reconfiguration, performance improvement, cost reduction, and post-merger integration.
In light of the anticipated shift to value-based care, much of Dave's recent work has been focused on strategic repositioning of assets — helping organizations determine how they want to position themselves in the market and how they want to compete in the changing reimbursement environment. In addition, he is supporting healthcare executives as they assess where to best position their organizations on the risk continuum and in implementing a risk strategy.
Under his leadership, the Healthcare practice has grown to include over 450 consultants and 2,400 business process outsourcing professionals. The practice is now ranked among the leading healthcare management consulting firms in the nation.
Provided merger and acquisition, and implementation direction and support for a $200 million improvement plan, including productivity improvement, supply chain and revenue cycle management, and clinical program redesign for a large metropolitan integrated healthcare system
Led post-merger integration planning and implementation, and directed the adoption of a $150 million operations improvement plan for a world-renowned nonprofit health system
Prior to joining Guidehouse, Dave spent a decade at Cap Gemini Ernst & Young’s Healthcare Consulting practice as a vice president and head of operations and strategy.
