Snack Pack Program - Community Connections Service Month Event

On Thursday, Sept. 19, the Mitchell, SD, office held a bean bag tournament to raise funds for the Mitchell weekend Snack Pack Program. The program provides nutritional food to about 400 students every weekend, so they have easy-to-prepare snacks for the weekend when parents are working or there is no accessible food in their home. The Snack Pack Program organization gives more than $50,000 in food every year to students and is funded completely by donations and volunteers.

At the event, there were 20 teams that participated in the tournament. Several Guidehouse employees came out to volunteer and host the event for our community. The team of 20 Guidehouse volunteers provided concessions and donation jars and boxes to raise additional funds for the organization. In weeks leading up to the event, the team had donation boxes placed in the Mitchell office allowing Guidehouse team members to donate additional food items, which was a great addition to the money raised.
