Curbing Corporate Energy Costs with Battery Storage

In a Wall Street Journal article, Guidehouse Insights discusses corporate interest in behind-the-meter battery storage systems

As improvements progress for battery storage systems, more businesses are looking into installing them to gain better control over their electricity costs and meet clean energy goals. 

In an article for the Wall Street Journal, Ricardo Rodriguez, research analyst at Guidehouse Insights, discussed how the commercial and industrial market, still a relatively a small portion of the overall storage market, is steadily growing. 

Rodriguez said US businesses are expected to deploy 220 MW of storage at or near their locations this year, and he anticipates the segment to more than quadruple in size by 2029.

“We’re going to start seeing the case for a wide array of commercial and industrial customers deploying battery storage,” he said.
