Guidehouse supports the Science Based Targets initiative in developing a guide to meet greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets
Electric utilities play a crucial role in decarbonization and helping to meet the flagship goal of the Paris Agreement, limiting global warming to 1.5°C.
Guidehouse, in partnership with the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), created Setting 1.5°C-Aligned Science-Based Targets: Quick Start Guide for Electric Utilities, on behalf of the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
The guide supports electric utilities in setting science-based targets that meet sector-specific requirements through a four-step process:
Guidehouse and CDP also created a Science-based Target Setting Tool enabling electric utilities to submit 1.5°C-aligned targets to the SBTi for validation.
