As Duke and Dominion Ramp Up Their Net Zero Goals, the Supply Chain Comes into View

In an article for UtilityDive, Danielle Vitoff, director at Guidehouse, discusses how two of the nation's largest utilities took an unexpected step to extend net zero emission commitments up and down the supply chain. Duke Energy and Dominion Energy both announced that they would expand their existing net zero emissions goals to include Scope 2 emissions – or those related to electricity the companies use but don't generate – and certain Scope 3 emissions related to downstream customer and upstream supplier energy use.
