Empowering Small Businesses

Neighborhood small businesses are critical to cities and communities, providing a broad array of economic and social benefits. However, there are serious gaps in the small business support system. Many public and private players have made strong economic development efforts, but barriers still hold back entrepreneurs and rob neighborhoods of the vibrancy and paths to prosperity that increased small business presence could bring. We see important opportunities to deliver the benefits of small business to residents and neighborhoods via tools such as improved access to capital, better financial, digital and business literacy and superior support services.
