Guidehouse at COP26

Guidehouse: Pioneers in Sustainability, Decarbonization, and ESG

COP26

COP26 brought countries together to accelerate action toward the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change. One key outcome of COP26 was the adoption of the Glasgow Climate Pact to build resilience to climate change, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and provide the necessary finance for both.

Guidehouse was represented at the conference by a highly experienced team of climate, finance, and energy experts who helped accelerate action towards these goals with expertise across energy and climate topics such as renewables, hydrogen, and sustainable cooling:

Dr. Andreas Hermelink, director, presented the Cool Up Programme, a collaborative initiative led by Guidehouse with the support of nine other international and national organizations to mitigate climate change through combined efforts in energy efficiency improvements and to facilitate the transition to sustainable cooling technologies

Shannon Graham, director, spoke on the panel that addressed the critical need for pre-competitive collaboration to transform extended supply chains within in the context of the Supplier Leadership on Climate Transition (SLoCT) initiative.

Matthias Schimmel, managing consultant, moderated the presentation on the Gas for Climate consortium, providing insights on the most recent market developments along the value chain of biomethane and hydrogen.

Fabian Wigand, associate director, discussed how well-designed market-based policies for renewables can attract investments and reduce costs, and presented best practices from case studies around the world.

Driving Meaningful Climate Change Action

For decades, Guidehouse has partnered with organizations across industries to create holistic approaches to sustainability, decarbonization, and ESG. As the impact of climate change becomes more apparent, and the regulatory and financial pressures for organizations to act become clearer, we partner with public and private sector clients to address all facets of sustainability, helping organizations realize their maximum potential through the development and implementation of initiatives carefully tailored to their industry and purpose.

Guidehouse has been a pioneer in the sustainability, decarbonization, and ESG spaces, and is proud to have developed methodologies for leading sustainability protocols and standards for organizations such as the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), the Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF), and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD).

Whether you’re just starting your sustainability journey or are looking to take it to the next level, Guidehouse can help you find the right path forward.
