Navigant Earns 10th Consecutive Perfect Score on Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 17th Annual Scorecard on LGBTQ Workplace Equality

CHICAGO – Navigant (NYSE: NCI) proudly announced today that for the 10th consecutive year it has received a perfect score on the 2019 Corporate Equality Index (CEI). Administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation (HRC), the CEI is a U.S. benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) workplace equality.

“At Navigant we have a deep respect for the authentic individual, and know that diversity of background and perspective creates value amongst our employees, clients, and stakeholders,” said Julie Howard, Navigant chairman and CEO. “We are honored to receive this recognition for the 10th consecutive year and will continue to support a culture of belonging and inclusion, embracing the diversity that has helped Navigant evolve into the company we are today.”

Navigant continues to create awareness, understanding, and an appreciation for its progressive work environment through programs championed by the company’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Allies Employee Resource Group called NAVPRIDE. In 2018, the company joined hundreds of U.S. employers in support of the Business Coalition for the Equality Act. The Equality Act is proposed federal legislation that would provide the same basic protections to LGBTQ people as are provided to other protected groups under federal law.

“Achieving a perfect score for the HRC Corporate Equality Index for 10 straight years is a recognition of Navigant’s continuous support of the LGBTQ community and demonstrates the values that Navigant works to uphold, including equality, inclusivity, and diversity,” said Shannon Dorato, associate director in Navigant’s Energy practice and co-chair of NAVPRIDE. “This inspiring accomplishment makes me proud to work at Navigant.”

The 2019 CEI rated more than 1,000 businesses in the report through a survey evaluating policies and practices in detailed criteria within four broad categories: non-discrimination policies, employment benefits, supporting an inclusive culture and corporate social responsibility including public commitment to LGBTQ equality, and responsible citizenship. Navigant’s efforts in satisfying all the CEI criteria resulted in a 100% ranking and the designation as a Best Places to Work for LGBTQ Equality.

The Human Rights Campaign Foundation is the educational arm of America's largest civil rights organization working to achieve equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer people. HRC envisions a world where LGBTQ people are embraced as full members of society at home, at work, and in every community.
