Five Minneapolis office members participated in the "Cook for Kids" program at the Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery. Volunteers cooked and served lunch for the child residents and staff, spent one-on-one time with the children, and cleaned up the kitchen after lunch.
The children in residence at Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery are voluntarily placed in residential care by their parents who are currently facing barriers such as unemployment, homelessness, medical or mental health concerns, poverty, domestic violence, or other difficult situations. Children – new born through age six – are welcomed for up to three nights while parents address their crisis. This volunteer event is recurring and includes up to six team members per occurrence.
