At COP25 in Madrid, Guidehouse and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) launched the second edition of the Circular Policy Action Brief. Providing a landscape overview of circular policies, the paper supports businesses in staying on top of regulatory and framework developments in the circular economy.
With value chains increasingly global and interlinked, multinational companies are subject to regional, national, and state circular economy policies that they will have to factor into their planning.
This second edition of the Circular Policy Action Brief includes additions and updates to existing circular policies for the European Union, China, and – newly – the U.S. state of California that have taken place in 2019, examining them on country, sector, and business-model levels. Guidehouse’s sustainability experts mapped all policies against the key sectors, automotive, electronics, construction, steel, pulp and paper, and energy, as well as the five circular business models.
